Montreal-based Compagnie Marie Chouinard has two Canadian MAGNIFICAT dates remaining this month, with a Fredericton Playhouse performance on Oct 5, 2026, followed by a Québec City date at Grand Théâtre de Québec on Oct 14, 2026.

The Fredericton performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and is part of the Playhouse’s Spotlight Series. The presenter has scheduled a post-show conversation with company members and carries a partial-nudity advisory for the performance. In Québec City, the company appears at 7:30 p.m. in Salle Louis-Fréchette as part of Grand Théâtre’s 2026–27 dance series, with an audience exchange after the program.

MAGNIFICAT is a 35-minute work by Marie Chouinard, who is credited with the choreography, lighting and set design, costumes and make-up. The score is Bach’s Magnificat, BWV 243, in a recording by La Chapelle Royale and Collegium Vocale Gent conducted by Philippe Herreweghe. The work received its world premiere on May 25, 2025 at Madrid en Danza in Spain.

The Québec City program is a double bill, with MAGNIFICAT followed after intermission by the 35-minute Henri Michaux : Mouvements.

Chouinard founded Compagnie Marie Chouinard in 1990 and remains its artistic and executive director. The Montreal company’s current calendar places the Fredericton and Québec City dates within a wider fall tour that continues in Germany later in October.
