Hudson & Rex returns for Season 9 on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Citytv, with John Reardon back as Detective Charlie Hudson. Rogers Sports & Media has ordered 12 episodes for the new season.

The 2026–27 cycle is identified as Season 9 in Beta Film’s current catalogue. Rogers billed the previous 2025–26 cycle as Season 8, which clarifies the numbering in promotional material that sometimes refers to the new run simply as an “all-new season.”

Who is returning for Hudson & Rex Season 9?

Alongside Reardon, the returning principal cast includes Mayko Nguyen as Dr. Sarah Truong, Kevin Hanchard as Superintendent Joseph Donovan, Justin Kelly as Tech Analyst Jesse Mills and Luke Roberts as Detective Mark Hudson. Rogers confirmed all five in its May renewal announcement for the 12-episode season.

Where is Hudson & Rex Season 9 produced?

The new season is produced by Shaftesbury and St. John’s-based Pope Productions Ltd. in association with Citytv and Beta Film, with Sherry White as showrunner. Rogers said production was scheduled to begin in St. John’s, Newfoundland, in June 2026.

Where can Canadians watch Hudson & Rex Season 9?

Season 9 premieres on Citytv at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Citytv+ currently carries Hudson & Rex and its series page lists the new season for Oct. 5.
